Charity Yoga Workshop: Anatomy of Warrior 1 and Lunging Poses
When: October 21, 2017 4-6pm
Where: Naada Yoga, Montreal QC
Standing yoga postures provide us with warming and strengthening while also delivering a sense of grounding connection. Join Kreg Weiss for this exploratory charity workshop where we will examine the classic Warrior 1 posture as well as complementary variations like Crescent Lunge. We will assess the variations in biomechanics in all of these poses and explore how we can better target the benefits based on adjustments in alignment and approach.
This workshop is open to all levels – for students wishing to expand their knowledge and enhance their personal practice as well as for teachers looking to strengthen their anatomy and instructing skills.
Cost: Community workshop by donation. Suggested donation of 20$ *all donations will go to Paper Kite Children’s Foundation (supporting orphanage programs in Bihar, India).

Enjoy my latest yoga anatomy article: "Piriformis: Exploring Hip Rotators".
Our hips are one of the most mobile joints of the body thanks to their ‘ball and socket’ design. One of the primary movements of the hips is rotation. External (or lateral) rotation is facilitated by numerous muscles including the Piriformis muscle. This muscle has an interesting anatomical setup that requires some playful and purposeful isolation into order to functionally target it when stretching.
